Multiple Positions Available – The Great Gatsby National Tour

Position Overview:

The National Tour of The Great Gatsby, GG First National Tour LLC, is seeking applications for the following positions – Head Carpenter, Head Electrician, Assistant Electrician (Video + Pyro), and Head Audio.

Role and Responsibilities:

Audio (Head): The Head Audio is responsible for loading in and out the audio package of the show and designating portions of the rig to the audio assistant(s). The A1 also tunes the room to make sure the sound system agrees with the venue’s acoustics and mixes the show.

The Head Audio supervises all the touring crew within the department. In addition to supervising department’s members, they are also responsible for a local crew of four or more audio stagehands during load-in and load-out.

Carpentry (Head): The Head Carpenter is responsible for loading in and out the show, ensuring the performances run safely, acting as the supervisor for the touring crew, advancing the tour, tracking Overtime hours for payroll, coordinating with the trucking company and is the supervisor of the local provided labor crew. This position is the supervisor of every member in all technical departments. Automation knowledge preferred. Other duties as assigned.

Electrician (Head): Head Electrician is responsible for loading in and out the lighting package of the show and designating portions of the rig to the electrics assistant(s). This can include but is not limited to: overhead lighting (LX) package, Front of House (FOH) LX, and set electrics. Also running a show track which traditionally consists of operating the lighting console and taking show cues from the calling Stage Manager (SM) on headset.

The Head Electrician supervises all the touring crew within the department. In addition to supervising the department’s members, they also are responsible for a local crew of twelve or more electricians during load-in and load-out.

Electrician (Assistant – – Video/Pyro):

Reporting to the Head Electrician, the Electrician (Assistant – Video/Pyro) is responsible for loading in and out the video package and pyro elements of the show. This can include and is not limited to: video walls, video control console, and video power center. A current pyrotechnics license and theatrical experience preferred. Please be aware this position is an electrician position with video and pyro responsibilities and other duties as assigned.

The Electrician (Assistant – Video/Pyro) supervises local electricians that will help assist in loading in and out the show. They are also responsible for supervising local crew member during the performances.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

• Team player, able to work long hours in very close quarters, problem solving skills, proactive, goal oriented, excellent communication skills.
• Touring experience is preferred but not required.
• At least two (2) years’ experience in the requested Department or three (3) years of related experience in a technical role within a theatrical operation.

Salary:

Salary includes Base Salary plus all applicable overtime per IATSE/Non-League Bus & Truck “M” Agreement and Overage Participation based on the Actors’ Equity Touring Agreement – Level 7.

Base Salary: Department Heads: $1,600, Assistants: $1,450

Travel & Housing:

Per IATSE/Non-League Bus & Truck “M” Agreement. Daily Per Diem rates based on the Actors’ Equity Touring Agreement – Level 7.
