NETworks is looking for a highly efficient, organized individual to manage the daily operations of multiple touring Broadway productions, from pre-production through the life of the tour. This individual will work collaboratively with the GM team and all departments to ensure projects meet both artistic and business goals. Reporting to the Senior Director of General Management, and in collaboration with the General Management department, this position will assist the team in managing the daily operations of current tours and helping to plan upcoming future projects. Success in the role requires people skills, a passion for problem solving, the ability to work under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously, attention to detail, a deep passion for theatre, and the ability to work independently while communicating effectively within the organization, and with many touring management teams.

Responsibilities:
Major Responsibilities

  • Support the General Management team with day-to-day departmental needs and monitoring of assigned tours.
  • Serve as AGM on assigned tours and provide crossover general management support as assigned.
  • Assist with production financial reports, including managing and maintaining budgets and pro formas, reviewing settlements, calculating and distributing royalty reports, recoupment schedules, profit projections, and merchandise commissions.
  • Negotiate and draft deal memos, contracts and agreements and distribute as needed.
  • Work with assigned show teams to ensure deadlines are met and appropriate information is communicated.
  • Manage personnel needs and issues as they arise, including managing and maintaining employment contracts and paperwork.
  • Develop, train and supervise Company Management staff and temporarily company manage a tour at any time if necessary.
  • Prepare and remit union-required reports.
  • Coordinate company travel and housing prior to engagement of the Company Management team.
  • Create and distribute employment documents, contract templates, scripts and scores and touring handbooks.
  • Fulfill other administrative tasks as necessary, including the creation of contact sheets, backstage passes, creative calendars, show gifts, etc.
  • Collaborate with the GM team on the development of processes to improve general management and overall tour functions.
  • Manage special projects as requested.
  • Track and maintain essential documentation and employee files.

Work Environment
This role is expected to help create a professional work environment and is required to work in a variety of locations and venues. Must be able to travel, work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed. Must be able to adapt to multiple buildings / theater venues and work long hours during the technical period(s) in dimly lit environments. Must be able to travel in multiple modes of transportation, including planes, trains, charter and sleeper coaches, and cars.

Physical Demands
Ability to travel via air/train/vehicle and upright or sleeper buses for an extended period. The ability to work varied hours due to show requirements and needs during the production and operating period. The ability to perform job responsibilities in a high stress, crisis management environment and manage multiple staff members’ requirements and priorities and the ability to manage and balance multiple projects. Must be able to travel for extended overnight period(s).

Education and Experience

  • 2-3 years of company management or general management experience in a theatrical environment.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, collaborative and organized.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, organizational and computer skills.
  • Experience managing people and the ability to work through people management to obtain desired outcomes using appropriate communication.
  • Understand basic accounting terms and practices. Business and finance knowledge and proficiency with spreadsheets using complex formulas a plus.
  • Ability to multitask projects in a high stress environment, paying close attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends when necessary.

Start Date and Location
Work will begin on or about May 1, 2024 in the Columbia, MD office.

Salary
Commensurate with experience, pay range for this position is $65,000 – $75,000 with benefits package including healthcare, dental, vision, 401k, life insurance, and paid time off.
